SAA是澳大利亞的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)機(jī)構(gòu)(Standards Association of Australian)，因此，有人稱澳大利亞認(rèn)證為SAA認(rèn)證。事實上，SAA只是標(biāo)準(zhǔn)制定機(jī)構(gòu)，不頒發(fā)產(chǎn)品認(rèn)證證書。SAA后來又改名為Standards Australia Limited。SAA是一家獨立的公司，與政府沒有直接關(guān)系，但****和州政府是其中的一員。SAA與澳大利亞****簽署了一份備忘錄，承認(rèn)SAA是澳大利亞非政府標(biāo)準(zhǔn)組織的最高組織。備忘錄還指出，標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的制定應(yīng)符合世貿(mào)組織的要求。因此，一些協(xié)議指出，當(dāng)適當(dāng)?shù)膰H標(biāo)準(zhǔn)存在時，就沒有必要制定新的澳大利亞標(biāo)準(zhǔn)。澳大利亞的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)是“澳大利亞標(biāo)準(zhǔn)“AS”開頭，澳大利亞和新西蘭的聯(lián)合標(biāo)準(zhǔn)是“AS/NZS“從標(biāo)準(zhǔn)代號開始。澳大利亞的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)與新西蘭的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)基本相同，但也存在一些國家差異。澳大利亞和新西蘭的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)統(tǒng)一和認(rèn)證相互認(rèn)可。只要產(chǎn)品獲得澳大利亞SAA認(rèn)證，也可以在新西蘭國家銷售。
目前國內(nèi)申請SAA認(rèn)證有兩種方式，一種是通過CB測試報告轉(zhuǎn)到SAA。另一種是直接做AS/NZS測試報告，然后轉(zhuǎn)到SAA。
新的電氣安全系統(tǒng)（EESS）將原來的強(qiáng)制性和非強(qiáng)制性產(chǎn)品改為1類（低風(fēng)險）、2類（中等風(fēng)險）和3類（高風(fēng)險）**產(chǎn)品分類。

Level 3 equipment 3類高風(fēng)險產(chǎn)品：
Electrical and electronic equipment defined in Annex B of this standard to be high risk equipment that is required by electrical regulators to be certified and registered on the EESS national date base before being placed on the market. In New Zealand these are referred to as declared high risk articles

Electrical and electronic equipment defined in Annex B of this standard to be mediu m risk equipment which is required by electrical regulators to h*e a compliance folder and be registered the EESS national date base before being placed on the market. In New Zealand these are referred to as declared medium risk articles

Electrical and electronic equipment which is neither level 3 equipment nor level 2 equipment電子電氣設(shè)備既不是3類也不是2類的產(chǎn)品。
